Thursday, April 30, 1981. The Second International Drawing Triennale, Wroclaw 1981. I sent two drawings to Poland today. Me and Mayakovsky and Vaslav Nijinsky and Benny Andrews. The first one is ink on paper (bristol board), and the other is soft pencil (2B) on paper.
Dear Tina, ... Tim Miller, a New York performing artist ... last Fall did a series of performances called "Me and Mayakovsky" ... My work with Mayakovsky continues. I just sent an ink drawing Me and Mayakovsky (I took the title from Tim Miller's performance series) to the 1981 International Drawing Trienniale in Wroclaw in Poland, and I have just completed a large painting developed from the drawing. I will send you a slide when the painting has been photographed. The enclosed slide of Hands Off Mayakovsky is for you. Yours, George.
