White Still Life is a painting in oil on canvas of ironstone dishes that Aunt Rene (Mrs. Irene Deem Ottensmeyer) left to me when she died. The painting is 14 by 24 inches. (George Deem published "Hitchhiking" in WhiteWalls, No. 22 (Spring 1989) Incidents of Travel. He offered the editor a photograph of his three paintings Lemon and Breakfast Lunch Dinner and White Still Life "for possible use as illustrations").
Lemon goes with the paragraph about cooking with lemons and with the paragraph about everything being different in another country.
