Studio Visit (Study)
In my drawing Studio Visit I make the easel too big for the composition. In my painting Studio Visit I make the easel touch the top and bottom of the canvas. The easel has the strangeness of an oversized unmanageable object in the studio.(George Deem, Note written for use as wall text in the exhibition "George Deem and Peter Angelo Simon: Paintings and Photographs in Conversation" at the Evansville Museum of Arts and Science, Evansville, Indiana, 2001).
